Dreamy bridal session in Girdwood, Alaska

When I say my jaw hit the floor. I promise, I’m not exaggerating. The moment I stepped out of my car I was overcome with excitement from the beauty of Portage Lake. Greeted by warm sunlight, a gentle breeze and by my sweet friend Niarra. This wasn’t your typical bridal session in Girdwood, Alaska but let me tell you as a photographer I was totally here for it. This shoot gave off all the adventurous bride vibes.

So if you love the great outdoors like me stick around cause I think you might like what you see! I mean I know I’m completely in love with this shoot at Portage lake.

As a kid I can remember a love for the outdoors. Most of the time my parents had to force me in the house. I can still vividly remember summers spent exploring Mount Katahdin. Who would’ve known that I’d get to share that passion with people just like you. It’s honestly one of the best parts of being a photographer. Any opportunity where I get to be in nature is a win for sure and this shoot was no different.

Portage Lake Bridals

One of the coolest things about being Girdwood photographer is that there are so many different locations to choose from. When Niarra and I began planning this bridal shoot we created a vision board. Her vision was wearing her dress in a field of flowers with the mountains behind her. I just knew that Girdwood, Alaska would be the perfect place for her bridal session. Don’t just take my word for it though have a look for yourself!

As the evening carried on and our time was coming to a close. I had an idea that sparked in my mind for this bridal session. I had my adventurous bride Niarra lay on the ground amongst the clovers. Let me just say I was shook. The golden light shined through and casted everything in sight in warm glow. It was the perfect way to end the night. I can also say that it felt like the longest drive back home that night. I was literally falling in love seeing all the magic from this session on the back of my camera.
