Boho Maternity Photos in Eagle River

Talk about some serious spring fever. During the first week of March I met up with the Stimpson family. Most of the snow had melted and the temperatures were slowly rising. The trails were still a bit icy but that couldn’t keep us cooped up in doors. After all we had just spent an entire Alaska winter cooped up. It was definitely the perfect time to get out, explore the trails and snap some maternity photos of two of my closest friends. I was seriously beyond thrilled to be hanging out with these two.

Walking the trails was a bit of a challenge but Ashley and Dakota were fully prepared. We placed our spikes on down by the cars and started our hike down to the river. It was a bit chilly, and the wind had left our cheeks painted blush, but Ashley stayed bundled up until it was time for photos.

On our adventure I carried my back pack. Inside I had packed some boho maternity dresses from my client closet. Ashley had fallen in love with both of the gowns and wanted to wear both during her maternity photos. We opted for an outfit change at each location and it worked out perfectly.

During our hike we found our selves greeted by several members of mother nature. Down by the pond at The Eagle River Nature Center we caught up with some swans as well as an eagle or two. I remember feeling so inspired by the swans in the pond. So I snapped a photo of Ashley and Dakota. To this day this image stills feels very symbolic to me and allows them to relive this unique moment from their maternity photoshoot.

Can you say this is what dreams are made of? Thats truly how I felt after hanging out with Ashley and Dakota in Eagle River, Alaska. Ashley is not only a glowing mama to be but also one of the most genuine kind hearted souls I’ve ever met. Not to mention that her love for all things boho.
