On moody days like this one I fall more and more in love with living in Alaska. Between the dramatic lighting conditions and fog it truly sets the scene for a story. Jessica and Daniel met me in Girdwood, Alaska the day after their wedding to have a little day after photo session. And let me tell you it was so worth it.
If you are searching for some inspiration for your very own day after photo session then this post is for you! So go ahead and check out all the dreamy wedding portraits from this fun adventure with this super sweet couple during their stay in Alaska.
Our evening started off at the base of the Alyeska Resort where we all met up and then made our way to Virgin Creek Falls. Once we all got there we took in the breathtaking views of the falls and the vibrant greenery that surrounded us.
I could feel little droplets of water falling onto my arms as the falls graced us with a light mist. The temperature seemed to lower the closer we got to the water. The scene felt like a romance movie like the Notebook or Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
After sometime spent frolicking at Virgin Creek Falls we then headed out to our second photo location. Just a short drive down the road we quickly approached Portage Lake. Portage lake is one of my favorite photo locations in Alaska because of its insane mountain views and depending on the time of year you might even get to see a field of lupines at the base of the mountains.
This is where we all spent the remainder of the evening hanging out and enjoying one another’s company while capturing sweet moments from their story.
