At the end of their winter photoshoot and before leaving I had to show them some of the photos.

Outfit ideas for your session

When deciding on what to wear for your session its important to keep in mind the time of year. The temperature and weather in Girdwood, Alaska varies year round so certain outfit choices may not be best engagement photos. No matter the season though I always recommend wearing neutral color clothing for your session.

If you have are planning to take engagement photos during the winter months its important to choose outfits that will keep you warm. I recommend dressing in several thin layers and then adding a thin or small jacket over the top. My top secret tip is putting hand warmers any and everywhere you can. During most of my shoot’s you can catch me with a hand warmer on two on the inside of my beanie.

When it get’s cold it’s also important to have a plan in place when you need to warm up. There are tons of great shops and bars around Girdwood where you can escape the elements during your engagement photos. A few of my favorite places to stop at are Girdwood Brewing Company and Sitzmark Bar and Grill.
