Picture this for just a minute. Your reading vows off the front deck of your A-frame cabin. There’s snow on the ground but the air is cool yet comfortable. You can hear birds chirping as they return with the promise of spring. Sounds pretty dreamy right? Well for Olivia and Logan thats exactly what their elopement Girdwood, Alaska looked like.
When I first arrived to their glorious A-frame cabin both Olivia and Logan were busy away inside steaming their attire. As I approached the venue my eyes were instantly drawn to the dramatic windows at that the front of their cabin. I knew it would be the perfect place to hang Olivia’s elopement dress.
Once inside their A-frame cabin I greeted Olivia, Logan and their videographer Krista. The four of us discussed the game plan for the day and before photographing their details I handed over a pair of scissors and dress tape to Olivia.
On my drive to Girdwood, Alaska Olivia sent me a quick text asking me to grab a couple things she needed in order to put on her elopement dress. Of course I was more than happy to help!
Shortly after setting up and photographing their elopement details Olivia and Logan began getting ready. This rustic loft had beautiful natural light that was perfect for their getting ready portraits. At one point I made my way out onto the deck and scoped out the perfect spot for their first look.
Out on the deck Olivia and Logan saw one another for the first time and then moved right into sharing their private vows. They asked myself and the videographer to give them some distance so they could feel as though they were alone for this moment. Which I thought was absolutely beautiful.
After their ceremony we all jumped in one car and drove to two of my favorite photo locations for portraits. We spent some time on the turn again arm before heading up toward Alyeska Resort for some more photos.
At the end of all their elopement adventure we made our way back to their A-frame cabin in Girdwood, Alaska. Where the newly married couple ordered pizza and sipped on wine next to their hottub. It was a romantic ending to a perfect day celebrating Olivia and Logan.
