Kelly and Joseph came to Alaska during one of my favorite times of year. The leaves had just started changing colors leaving the landscape covered in a blanket of colors. Meanwhile up in the mountains the first snow was falling. Kelly, Joseph and I were lucky enough to catch a few of those magical snowflakes during their elopement in Hatchers Pass.
The three of us spent the day exploring all the beautiful locations inside the state park. Their day started near the lodges where we took in the panoramic views of the mountains. Shortly after we all took a short hike to an overlook. This is when the snow really started to come down leaving us all with snowflakes in our hair.
During this moment the smiles and pure joy was palpable. I remember looking at the back of my camera and thinking how is all of this real. It’s almost like we were lucky enough to catch the very first snow of the season.
After picking and eating blueberries till our hearts were content. We hopped in our cars and started driving to the lower portion of the state park. Spotting more pretty photo locations along the way. We also various wildlife during our drive. For Kelly and Joseph it was their first time seeing a moose. So of course we had to stop on the side of the road to get a better view of it.
Before Kelly and Joseph made the trek back home to Scranton Pennsylvania they went to the Aurora Ice Museum.
I loved getting to explore alongside Kelly and Joseph during their fall elopement in Hatchers Pass. As an elopement photographer I love getting to tell a couples story if you are currently on the hunt for a photographer to tell your story I would love to work with you.
