Joyous anniversary session at Eklutna Lake
Why should you only wear your wedding dress once? When you can wear it twice. I’m just saying! Theres no reason why you can’t be a bride for more than one day. And let me say there is no better place do so then right here in Alaska! If your like Austin & Jess you already know. These two jumped into their wedding attire and headed out to Eklutna Lake for a one of a kind anniversary photo session. I may be a little biased but I’m obsessed with these two. From getting to hear there story to capturing their beautiful elopement styled photos I had a blast.
Jess & Austin’s anniversary photo session
Jess & Austin have been married for 3 years! I know some serious goals right? These two made their way up to Alaska to follow Jess’s work as a Traveling nurse. During their stay I was luck enough to meet and photograph them.
This sweet couple has a love for all things adventurous and outdoors. I swear every-time I see their stories on instagram they are out exploring somewhere new. I immediately knew Eklutna lake would be the perfect place for their session. Jess fell in love with the idea. And before we knew it we were packing up cars and making the drive. They even brought their sweet pup to be apart of their celebration. How stinking cute?!
They got dressed in their wedding attire down by the car. Jess wore the same wedding dress to their anniversary session that she wore on her wedding day. A trumpet styled gown with gorgeous lace detailing and a sweet heart neckline. Austin wore a grey suit with a red tie that paired so perfectly. They both looked terrific! They also wore casual footwear that was suitable for walking around Eklutna lake.
We all hung out till the sun went down. Which was around 11pm here. Good ol midnight sun! At the end of their session we made our way to the water. Taking in the view as the sun went down. As we approached we were greeted by mountains. One of my about this location is the insane views.
You definitely need to check it out for yourself! However when going make sure to check out sunset times to view the mountains in the best light. You wont regret it! I know as an Alaska wedding photographer that light plays a huge role in what I see through my camera.
