When it comes to Alaska, there is no shortage of beautiful places to get married. Whether you are looking to host an indoor or outdoor event there is something here for everybody. So if your looking for the best intimate wedding venues in Alaska then this post is for you!
When it comes to saying I do in Alaska many couples come here with one thing in mind. They want the full Alaska experience! My goal is to help you achieve that dream while finding ways for you to include your closest family and friends.
I know how special it is to find that perfect place to say I do. As an Alaska wedding photographer I have experience photographing at many different venues. And after seeing and experiencing all kinds of wedding venues these 5 take the cake and are listed below in no particular order.
Inside this guide, I will give you an inside scoop about each venue and how they can accommodate your intimate wedding.
Salted Roots
Just inside a lush forrest slightly tucked away from the ocean are the infamously well known cabins that make up Salted Roots. These cabins sport some of coziest vibes and the best views of the Resurrection Bay. This cozy oasis also has some ocean front property which is a common location for many wedding ceremonies on the property.
This venue can comfortably accommodate 20 overnight guests and only hosts group sizes of 50 or less for events. During the summer months they do tend to book up quickly so I highly recommend reaching out to them sooner than later.

Knotty Pine B & B
Knotty Pine B & B is nestled on 8 acres of spruce forrest and is well known for its panoramic vista and cozy mountain living. This home away from home cabin is located only 10 minutes from downtown Palmer, and 30 minutes from Hatcher Pass Recreation Area. Making it the perfect venue for couples wanting to take some of their wedding portraits inside of Hatchers Pass.
There are several perfect ceremony locations on the property. One including their well known panoramic vista which can be seen clear as day on a sunny summer day.

This venue can accommodate 24 over night guests when you rent out the beach house and cabins in combination. They even offer a seasonal special for those that decide to stay during the winter months. Lastly the best way to get to Between Beaches is by catching a boat ride with Makos Water Taxi.

Hatchers Pass
Hatchers Pass is probably one of the most well known outdoor wedding venues in all of Alaska. And with good reason of course! Depending on what season you decide to get married and when the road to Willow opens there are many beautiful locations within the state park to choose from.
Some of my favorite locations inside the park include Summit Lake and the lower level near the Independence Mine. Additional information for special use permits can be found on the Alaska Department of Natural Resources website.

Air B&Bs in Girdwood
Girdwood is one of my favorite towns in Alaska. During the summer months there are many beautiful hiking trails and during the winter, many flock to Alyeska Resort to ski and snowboard. This cozy town has tons of cute restaurants and cozy places to stay during your trip to Alaska. Below I’ll list a few of my favorites!
Other honorable mention Air B&B style wedding venues in Alaska
When getting married in Alaska it is important to keep in mind the time of year. While our summers generally bring with them warmer temperatures its not uncommon to encounter a few rainy days. My recommendation is to always have a ceremony back up plan, or be prepared to embrace the unpredictable Alaska weather. After all they do say that rain on your wedding day stands for good luck right?!
No matter where you decide to get married in Alaska there is a perfect wedding venue here for you. While there are many deciding factors that go into choosing the perfect location for your event.
