Can we talk about the birthday surprise of a lifetime?! When Louise told me that she booked an Alaska helicopter tour to Knik glacier for her husbands birthday and wanted me to come with I was beyond ecstatic.
Louise and I had connected over instagram when I first moved to Alaska from Tennessee. While chatting with Louise I learned that they were too from Tennessee and my mind was blown because my hubbies family is there and we visited often
The thought definitely crossed my mind that maybe we had all been in the same place at once and never known. Maybe we were all in the same pub or cafe at one point, but either way I’m so stinking glad our paths finally crossed and I got to adventure with you both.
The three of us took an Alaska helicopter tour out to Knik glacier and let me just say I was blown away by the views. It seemed as though we were surrounded on all sides by mountains beneath us ice. The water was a vibrant shade of blue like none I had ever seen before.
We walked along Knik glacier taking in the views and hearing the words of our tour guide. Enjoying our safe and beautiful flight back to the helicopter pad we witnessed several mountain goats, a moose and even a little family of black bears.
I can honestly say that I’ve been counting down the days till I take another helicopter tour here in Alaska. Whether its back to Knik glacier or up to the top of a mountain.
