Romantic engagement session in downtown Chicago

This engagement session in downtown Chicago was truly unforgettable. Mikayla and Cody have an infectious fun loving energy that makes them so much fun to be around. I knew from the moment we met that we would become great friends.

We spent the first part of their photoshoot at The Art Institute of Chicago. Where we walked around and explored all the exhibits together. Taking some time to soak up the beauty that surrounded around us. I felt like I was a kid in a candy shop and was obsessed from very moment we walked in.

The museum held significant meaning for Mikayla and Cody. As this is where they had their first date together. Which I thought was so freaking cute. They even had a favorite room, which is where Cody decided to ask Mikayla to marry him. I loved that they wanted to include this special sentiment into their engagement photos.

While photographing in the museum I made sure to give them space. Which really allowed for their story to unfold right before my eyes. It also allowed them to be the most genuine versions of themselves and enjoy this date night adventure.

During their couples session Mikayla and Cody were all smiles. There were many times where Cody would tell Mikayla a joke and leave her with a smile from ear to ear. It was so easy to see and feel the love that these two share with one another.

After spending the first half of their shoot at the museum we made our way to the riverwalk. Which is one of my favorite places to take engagement photos in Chicago. Following their session we all decided to go out for a bite to eat a local pizza joint. I mean it really wouldn’t be an engagement session in Chicago if we didn’t eat pizza after would it?
