Rome is a city that feels alive — buzzing with history, golden light, and that cinematic energy you can’t find anywhere else. This styled elopement captured everything I love about photographing in Italy’s capital: wandering cobblestone streets, exploring iconic landmarks, and ending the night with a view that took our breath away.
If you’re dreaming of a Rome elopement or couples session that blends romance, adventure, and editorial vibes, this shoot is the perfect inspiration.
Exploring the Streets of Rome Together
We started our session walking through Rome’s historic streets — the perfect way to ease into the day and capture those candid, natural moments. Rome’s alleyways and side streets are full of charm:
•warm golden buildings
•ivy-covered walls
•quiet corners away from the crowds
•soft morning or afternoon light
These little pockets of the city are some of my favorite places to photograph because they feel intimate and relaxed — like the two of you are in your own little world within a city full of history.

The Spanish Steps: Timeless + Romantic
Next, we made our way to the Spanish Steps, one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks. The architecture, layers of steps, and soft glow make it a stunning location for elevated portraits.
The couple explored the area, danced on the lower steps, and soaked in the atmosphere as people slowly filled the square.
What I love about the Spanish Steps:
•the lines + leading shapes
•pastel buildings surrounding the piazza
•elegant, fashion-forward editorial vibes
•the perfect mix of romance and Rome’s vibrant energy
Wandering Between Landmarks
From the Steps, we continued to wander — stopping at quiet piazzas, narrow passageways, and little corners that caught our eye along the way. Rome rewards spontaneity. Everywhere you turn feels like another cinematic moment ready to be photographed.
These are the kinds of moments that make a Rome elopement so special:
Walking hand in hand.
Laughing together.
Getting lost in the city.
Letting the day unfold naturally.
The exact feeling that makes destination shoots so magical.

Ending the Evening Overlooking the Colosseum
For sunset, we ended at one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in the city — a terrace overlooking the Colosseum.
The sky glowed with warm, golden light. The Colosseum lit up behind the couple. The entire place felt cinematic and surreal.
This location is ideal for couples who want something iconic without the crowds. It gives you:
•sweeping views
•privacy for intimate moments
•incredible editorial portraits
•that “Rome at golden hour” glow
It was the perfect way to end the night — calm, romantic, and unforgettable.
